Earlier this year I decided that as part of my professional development I wanted to submit a portfolio of commercial images, and review my business practices with the aim of gaining my Professional Commercial Photographer Accreditation with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP).

I'm over the moon to announce that last week I was informed that I have been accepted into the NZIPP as an Accredited Professional Commercial Photographer... Yay!

General feedback from the accreditation panel was that there was a great variety of work in my final submission, with excellent technical control and understanding of light.

Why book an NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographer?

NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographers offer consumers greater buyer confidence, knowing they have chosen a photographer who has demonstrated expertise and achievement. They meet the technical, creative and business standards of professional photography, as set by recognised industry professionals. They are bound by a Code of Ethics and are continually looking to educate themselves through regular professional development.

If you're a working NZ photographer I'd recommend checking out the NZIPP and investigating becoming accredited. It's far too easy to get tied up doing the day-to-day job and forget about your PD! Reviewing your images for accreditation by a professional body is quite an interesting process to go through, highly recommended!
